Over the past two years, many Big River Group clients have completed succession planning. However, some confusion exists regarding succession planning, and talent development.
Succession planning is the “bulletproofing” that protects an organization from an unanticipated loss of key supervisors, managers or leaders. Succession planning also identifies positive transitions where individuals grow into new positions, and the replacements for those people are identified in advance.
Here you’ll find a document that can be used for basic succession planning.
Talent development is the actual mapping of one specific employees’ growth to best fit organizational needs. Talent development can be considered as a recipe for cooking up employee growth. No two talent development plans would be alike and organization.
